It's not just about CCTVs everywhere (though we have tons! π), itβs more about a deep-rooted sense of community trust and respect for others' belongings. Losing something here? Chances are, someone will find it and try to return it. That feeling of safety? It hits different, fr fr.
I know it sounds wild, especially if you're from a country where you literally have to guard your bag with your life. But honestly, this is one of my favorite things about living in Seoul. It makes daily life so much more relaxed! You can grab another μλ©λ¦¬μΉ΄λ Έ (americano) or browse the bookstore next door without stressing that someone's gonna swipe your AirPods. Not gonna lie, I lowkey take it for granted sometimes until I travel abroad and remember, "Oh, right! This isn't normal everywhere!" Did you know that sometimes, if you leave your phone charging at a cafe and forget it, the staff will often keep it safe behind the counter for you? And if you accidentally leave your wallet or bag on a bus or subway, there's a really high chance it'll end up at a lost and found center and be returned to you! Korea is literally the place to be a bit forgetful sometimes. π
