Temple Stay Slay: Relax, Recharge, Repeat in Seoul
POV: I'm literally dying from school stress ๐คฏ. My friends and I are always lowkey scrambling to finish our homework, and I'm like, "What's the point of life if we're just gonna be stuck in a classroom all day?" But then, my bestie told me about this temple stay experience in Seoul, and I'm like, "OMG, yes, please!" ๐
So, we booked a temple stay at Bulguksa Temple (, bulguksa sa), a UNESCO World Heritage site in Gyeongju. We arrived early in the morning, and the monks welcomed us with a warm smile and a cup of jae (, jae, tea). We spent the day meditating, practicing yoga, and learning about Korean Buddhism. It was literally so peaceful and calming ๐. After a delicious baekban (, baekban, breakfast) of Korean porridge and kimchi, we started our day with a hike to the top of the temple. The view was, like, whoa! ๐
But the best part of the temple stay was the gongja (, gongja, communal meal) in the evening. We sat down with the monks and other guests, and we shared a meal of jjim (, jjim, steamed food) and guksu (, guksu, noodles). It was so heartwarming to see everyone coming together and sharing a meal in peace ๐ด. We even got to try some traditional Korean desserts, like patbingsu (, patbingsu, shaved ice dessert) and hotteok (, hotteok, sweet pancake).
So, if you're feeling stressed and overwhelmed, I highly recommend trying a temple stay in Seoul. It's a great way to relax, recharge, and connect with nature and yourself. And, who knows, you might even discover a new passion or hobby ๐ค. Trust me, it hits different! โจ
โจ Fun Fact:
Bulguksa Temple is one of the most famous temples in Korea, and it's been around for over 1,200 years! ๐คฏ It's a must-visit destination for anyone interested in Korean history and culture.
